Outlook 2013 will not open attachements

When i click on an attachment in Outlook 2013 i get the blue or green opening window with "Opening in a protected view" but that's as far has it gets. A the appropriate check boxes are as they should be in the trust centre dialog box.

Any suggestions?

Would you please provide a screenshot of the blue or green opening window with "Opening in a protected view" so that we can understand the problem more clearly? In addition, I'd like to clarify the following questions in order to resolve the issue more efficiently:

What file type of attachment did you open? Does this issue happen to all file types of attachments?

By "A the appropriate check boxes are as they should be in the trust centre dialog box", do you mean you have disabled the "Enable Protected View for Outlook attachments" option from Trust Center settings?

If I've misunderstood something, please feel free to let me know.

hii,

Turn off protected View from word/exel/powepoint , if you are not able to open attachment. To change your Protected View settings:

  • In Microsoft word, click File > Options > Trust Center.
  • Click Trust Center Settings.
  • Click Protected View.
  • Clear the Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet and Enabled Protected View for files located in potentially unsafe locations checkboxes.
  • you can do this with other MS office application

All office file attachments are affected.

I checked that all the appropriate check boxes were in their correct state.

I have downloaded the OffCAT file and run it but it as not made any difference.

I have also sent you an email with a screen dump showing the blue box.
