Outlook 2013 wont show any of my older emails

Ive just bought a new laptp and installed MS Office Professional Plus.

When starting outlook and setting up my work email account i managed to get it sorted only it didn't bring through all my emails which are on my old laptop - it only bought through the last 2 weeks worth.

Any help on how to set it up to bring all of them across would be greatly appreciated

Hi

As per the information and details provided by you, to move Outlook data to a new laptop, please follow these steps: -

Before you can transfer your Outlook data, you have to know where it is. Outlook keeps all of its data in one file, with a .pst extension. Its probably Outlook.pst.

  1. Click the File tab, then Info in the left pane. Select Account Settings and then Account Settings again.
  2. Click the Data Files button. You will find the information you need in the resulting dialog box. Or you could click Open File Location to go right to the folder.
  3. Once you have installed Outlook onto the new machine, you will have a fresh, clean, and empty .pst file. You will have to import data files from the old file to the new one.
  4. That means that the old file has to be accessible to new machine. You can move it into that machine, put it on a flash drive, or simply make its containing folder accessible on the network.
  5. When you are ready, launch Outlook. If this is your first time launching it on machine, go through the wizard.
  6. Once Outlook is up and running, click the File tab, and select Open and Export > Import/Export. In the resulting Import and Export wizard, select Import from another program or file, then Outlook Data File (.pst).
  7. On the wizards next page, for the File to Import option, click the Browse button and select the old .pst file.
  8. The next page will ask you what to import. If you want to import everything, and I assume you do, just click with the default.
  9. When you click Finish, the wizard will go away, and the import will start. If you see no visible sign of importing, wait a few seconds; it will start soon enough.

I hope this information will be helpful for you.

Thanks and regards

Hi,

It depends on what type of account you were using on your old laptop. Based on your description, it was probably a POP account that downloaded emails from the server to local, so when you created the account on a new laptop, Outlook tried to download emails from the server but only the latest were available. If it is your scenario, you will need to export the emails from the old laptop and import them to your new laptop. Goyal has provided the steps above.

If it's not your scenario, feel free to post back.
