Outlook Anywhere (Setup from outside network)
Hello all. I am setting up outlook anywhere and am having an issue where if i connect internally it works a treat. If i connect from outside the network it doesnt seem to work. I have my laptop at home and outlook anywhere works perfect on this. I have been trying to setup the desktop pc (which has nothing to do with our domain) and for some reason i cannot get it to connect to outlook anywhere. I have verified all the RPC settings and they look ok. The weird thing is if i dial a VPN into our domain from my home desktop and setup outlook it works. If i then disconnec the VPN and open outlook and setup RPC it all works I need to be able to setup an outlook client that has not been connected to the domain before without dialing a VPN. I am using EX2K7 w/SP1 and Outlook 2003 and 2007 (tried both) XP and Vista (tried both). Cheers

Are you configuring the Outlook 2007 profile using the autodiscover-based automatic profile creation wizard? What if you configure the profile manually (remember the proxy configuration settings)? Are you prompted for credentials? You may also try to test with the Exchange Server Remote Connectivity Analyzer Tool: http://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com

Hi,As Henrik said, did you try to configure the profile manuall? I suggest we take the following steps to manual configure the profile.Open Control Panel, click Mail icon, click Show Profiles button, click Add button, input the Profile Name, check "Manually configure server settings or additional server types, select "Microsoft Exchange", click Next button, input the server name and User name, please first click More Settings button before clicking Check Name, in the Connection tab, check "Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP", then click Exchange Proxy Settings button, finish the information that needs to be inputted. After that, please click Check Name button. What's the result?ThanksAllen
