Outlook Pro 2013 Crashes On Send After Checking ENCRYPTION and DIGITAL SIGNING

I bought and imported a Digital ID today. After doing so I went in and checked the boxes in TRUST CENTER to allow for ENCRYPTION and DIGITAL SIGNING. After doing so, every time I hit SEND on my emails, it sits, spins, sits, and never recovers. The application hang error is below. Please note that the SOFTWARE PROTECTION SERVICE seems to stop working in EVENT VIEWER as well before each app hang.

If I go in, UNCHECK those security settings, and reopen OUTLOOK, all is well.

I FOUND IT!

The new profile did not work. I downloaded the SDK and got the debugger items. After running that, I found when it hanged it was running the NCRYPTPROV.DLL After researching that dll online I found this KB for WIN 8 related hangs from a "Password protected cert". That is it! This hotfix will resolve the issue.

thank you Tony for helping push me in the right direction!

In my case, Outlook 2013 32b and Win 8 64b, it crashed because certificate was imported in Outlook Trust Center.

I deleted the certificate and re-added it by Windows certificate manager (certmgr).
