Hi,

I wanted to ask if Microsoft is working to fix the issue of Outlook 2010 Calendar Reminders not poping up on top of my other open applications. This seems to be a huge issue for a lot of people including myself. We are working on a Win 7 Office 2010 rollout and we need to have a solution for this as it is very important that our employees do not miss appointments.

The only partial fix I have found so far is to ungroup your taskbar items, or make a unique .wav file to use to draw your attention to the reminder.

I just need to know if Microsoft is looking to at least provide the option for those who want it to interrupt whatever they are working on to remind them that they have a meeting or appointment in 15 minutes. Users have come to rely on this tool over the years and would like to have the option available to them.

As an office product user myself, I can completely understand the inconvenience that the reminder behavior has brought to you. It is currently by design. Actually, connect.microsoft.com offers neither Office nor Outlook as a feedback option.

I just started using Windows 7 and have the taskbar set to never group and still all of the reminders show up as a single item in the taskbar. I do use a special sound for meetings as opposed to other reminders, but if I'm not at my desk when the sound goes off then I don't hear it. Also, if I organize a meeting, then set a special sound for myself so only I get the special sound, then later send an update for the meeting, I am concerned I may send my special sound setting to others who won't have that special sound and therefore won't hear any sound when their alarm goes off, although I have never actually tested for this problem.

What I want is for the reminder window to come to the front so that I see it, but not take typing focus away from whatever program I'm typing into, as it results in lost text and sometimes a lost reminder.
