Outlook Tasks View Style

Hi All,

Below is what my customer would like. I also posted this question on the Microsoft Community website but was informed that as I was using Exchange server and I am on a domain, that I should also post on TechNet.

As the customers Outlook is setup in a certain way. Tasks are being archived as soon as the Reoccurrence rules is relevant. The customer wants to view two or more Task folders on the same screen as they are having to go between folders as tasks are active in both. If a task has been archived, Reoccurrence rule will begin but the new task is created in the Archived folder when they should be in the Live folder.

The way the customer is using it at the moment is that they are flicking between the Active folder and the archived folder as some tasks are still active (in the archived folder), even though they have had the reoccurrence rule set on them.

I presented the solution of right-clicking the folder and selecting Open in new Window then have the Windows side by side so the customer can view both folders at the same time but they said this solution isnt right for them.

I created a visual mock-up of what my customer would like but I am unable to post the image as my account hasnt been verified yet.

I have done research on this and there doesnt seem to be an option for such a view. However, I did find a registry edit but I dont think this would be a good idea as it hasnt been tested on our company system.

Any ideas?

Many thanks for your help community!

Hi,

I received your email, I have to say currently there is no such method to display tasks from multiple folders on the same screen.

Either I don't think the registry key value is helpful here.

It depends a bit on where you are archiving it to whether or not you can use the To-Do List or a Search for this.

Without knowing which Registry you are referring to, it is not possible to say whether it applies or not.

Below is the link to the registry edit.

I ended up talking to the customer and explaining that such a view is not available.

Thanks for all your help guys. Much appreciated!

That registry key value indeed has nothing to do with this. It is to have AutoArchive archive based on the created date rather than the modified date.
