Outlook Version - Connecting to Exchange
Hello All,
I am attempting to grab the versions of Outlook that are connecting to my Exchange 2003 Environment to get a count of what I have on the floor. I have been using ExMon with 30 min refresh intervals to grab this information to date. The Exmon
Utility has run all day for the two days and I have only captured 800 users versions out of several thousand. With that said, what can I do to capture these other users versions of Outlook as I am having no luck getting more data with ExMon.
Thanks - TomThanks, Thomas Hughes

I don't think you are going to get anything close to a complete set.
EXMON is a point in time thing, and due to the way Outlook and cached mode works, you are never going to see every connection. Exchange 2003 doesn't record that information - it has no version blocking capability like the later versions.
If all of the machines on the domain you would probably be better doing a query against the workstations.

Actually, you can block by mapi version in Exchange 2003:

Exmon can only collect data between 1 and 30 minutes.
if you want it do be more than 30 minutes you should use another data collection method. You can stop or start traces by using the play and
stop buttons in the toolbar or alternatively click File >
Stop or Start. You can save statistics by clicking the floppy disk icon in the toolbar or
File > Save Statistics in the menu.
