Outlook crashes on startup

Hello,

I have been having issues with our printer ever since yesterday afternoon and I cannot pinpoint the cause. We installed a new printer, I downloaded windows updates (again- there is a new one everyday), and we removed some programs that we were no longer using in order to free up some space on my hard drive. So, I am not sure what caused the issue, but it was working fine yesterday morning. When I open outlook (it came with Office XP), I get the message:

Microsoft C++ Visual Runtime Error

This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way.

Then I get a message that says Microsoft Outlook has stopped working, do you want to close the program or close the program and check online for a solution.

After I click close the program, I get this error message before the program closes:

Runtime Error

R6025
Pure virtual function call

Can someone please help? I really need my Outlook :)

Thanks!

Hi

Some windows updates makes the outlook to stop working. Repair the outlook version and try to update the office with the latest updates.

Reconfigure the outlook profile and check the status. Inform if the issue appears again.

Sometimes reconfiguring outlook wouldn't solve the issue you can see this thread: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/c02d5568-d49e-4447-b83a-1c976c0f1bb1/outlook-crashes-on-startup?forum=outlook#bdd74ccc-490e-4343-b2c0-c7a5e7bdbbe0
