Outlook for iphone, deemed safe now?

Earlier this year, there were certain tech professionals and bloggers who wrote about how certain functionality in the Outlook app for iOS made it unsecure. Many companies decided to block the application.

Does anyone know if there has been any changes? Our server engineers want documentation that the problem has been solved before they decide to enable access for Outlook on iOS devices.

I have tried searching for changelogs or release notes, but can't find any. All the articles I find only describe the issue from earlier this year, I can't find articles that describe any changes made after
