Outlook not resolving Exchange server
Hi,
We have Exchange 2010 SP2 configured. The Outlook users are not able to resolve the Exchange Server. When I did a test from https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com everything resolved fine. But still users are not able to use Outlook for email from outside
the domain.

When I did https://owa.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml, I got login prompt. After putting the credentials. I got below message.
When connected via Outlook, it says retry, work offline or cancel.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>

Are you having these difficulties just outisde of your domain or outside of your organization (i.e. from the internet)? Are you using a CAS Array? Did you configure OutlookAnywhere? Attempt using 'Test E-mail Autoconfiguration' from an
Outlook client outside of your domain/organizaton to see what results you receive. Please post the results of the Log here unless it becomes obvious what your issue is.

This is happening from outside organization i.e. Internet.
Yes we have CAS server and Outlook Anywhere is configured.
I am not able to run Test Email Configuration as it is not starting. The Outlook asks for username and password and then pops up the message Exchange Server is unavailable.

I was asking about a CAS array (multiple CAS servers load balanced). Also, you can run test e-mail autoconfiguration by canceling the login box, then right click on the outlook icon in the system tray and select test e-mail autoconfiguration.

We don't have CAS Array. But we have 2 Exchange CAS server one in parent AD domain and one in child AD domain.
Test email autoconfiguration is not launching.

How are you differentiating between them? Autodiscover needs to point to a specific URL, and so does Outlook Anywhere,OWA,ECP,EWS, etc... Which one is being referenced. If you do not have a CAS array setup, your mailbox servers will only
use one CAS, not all of them.
Can you use a non domain joined pc on your internal network and does it work?

Hello,
Please verify whether there is A record for autodiscover in DNS or DNS SRV record.
Please verify whether your certificate is valid and it is SAN certificate.
And if you choose basic authentication for outlook anywhere.
Best Regards,
Lisa

I had raised a support request with Microsoft, the issue is resolved now.
msstd:*.domain.com had to be added as we have wildcard certificate for *.domain.com.
