Outlook not syncing files

Hello,

I posted in the Office 365 Community forum and they sent me over here, as they were unable to resolve my issue. Here is a summary:

When I imported email data from my previous Outlook client to Outlook 2013, the emails couldnt be seen after I moved them to the folder which I created in my former Outlook client. The issue didnt persist in Outlook Web Access (OWA). In addition, the IMAPI tool showed that one folder had the emails and the other one didnt have them. Neither folder showed emails on your Outlook client. Since the IMAPI tool is used for checking the emails when a problem related to email exhibition occurred, which means that the issue is a client side issue.

This is the latest version of Outlook and automatic updates are on. Please see the thread to see the ways that I have already tried to troubleshoot this issue: https://community.office365.com/en-us/f/158/p/360841/983765#983765

Please help me rectify this issue.

Hi Lindsay,

By IMAPI tool, do you mean the MFCMAPI tool?

Which type of email account did you use on your previous Outlook client? IMAP, POP3 or Exchange? I noticed that your Outlook Status Bar shows as Filter Applied while selecting the problematic folder:

Based on my experience, this issue may happen after importing IMAP folders into Exchange mailboxes. In this case, users often discover their mail is not visible.

To resolve the issue, we need to use the MFCMAPI tool to edit the property of these folders. To do this, please follow:

1. Open MFCMAPI, go to Session, Logon

2. Select your profile

3. Double-click on the affected data store.

4. Expand Root - Mailbox

5. Expand Top of Information Store or IPM_Subtree

6. Select Inbox and look for PR_CONTAINER_CLASS in the right pane, double-click on it.

7. Change IPF.IMAP to IPF.Note then click OK to close the dialog.

8. Repeat for each folder that was exported from an IMAP data file.

9. When you are finished, close the MFCMAPI window, click Session, Logoff on the last MFCMAPI window.

Steve,

Thank you for your response. Strangely, this worked for some of the folders that were having issues and not for most others. I would say that about 60% of the imported folders are still not showing their emails, despite having followed the directions above.

Is there anything else that I can do to troubleshoot and fix this issue?
