Outlook not updating/connecting to Exchange server
The outlook on the workstations is not connecting to the Exchange server (Exchange 2003 SP 2, on Win Server 2003). When I try to create a new profile I receive the error message below:
Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. You must connect to the Microsoft Exchange with the currecnt profile before you can synchronize your folders with you offline folder file.
I have check and all of the Exchange services are running, and I am able to ping the Exchange server.

What version of Outlook? Can you ping the server via both NetBIOS and DNS FQDN names?Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Outlook 2007.
I can ping by IP address and by the server name.
Should I try using the full server and domain (i.e. ping chiron.pcs.local)?

That would verify that you have a working DNS, yes.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

It is working after another reboot of the Exchange server.
I have another question on setting up OWA, but I will be opening another topic.
