Is this happening on RPC over HTTPS connections or MAPI connections? There can be lot of reasonf for this , how ever you can start with 1. Checking the authentication on your Autodiscover Virtual Directory in IIShttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201695.aspx2. Run this command from shellGet-ClientAccessServer | fl3. Check the SCP http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125157.aspxAlso make sure that all the exchange roles are updated with SP2.Raj

I just realized that, my windows profile was different from my outlook profile when my logon prompt was displayed. Now my windows n outlook profiles are both the same. I doesn't seem to have this issue now. I will wait for some more time whether the issue is really gone.
is this symptom by default?

Hi,That's indeedthe default behaviour when the Windows profile is different from the Outlook profile. By default, Outlook profile uses the Windows profile's credential to do the authentication.ThanksAllen
