we have one node exchange server 2013 server with both role CAS/MBX and recently we have renew the SAN certificate and after this renew we are unable to access owa from out side and web browser giving ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED  

any suggestion for what causing such issue

Is it accessible internally, which certificate do you see in internal OWA

Did you assign the services to the new cert. what is the procedure followed to renew the certificate.

Have you imported it in all CAS and Reverse proxy as well.

Refer to this guide to import it correctly using EAC or EMS (You should not install it using IIS Manager)

thanks for your replay .

it is working locally , the certificate i seen locally is the SAN certificate with our owa name on the certificate subject i.e. mail.xxxx.com

all services are assigned to the new certificate POP,IMAP,IIS and SMTP .

we have only one server and i have did the same procedure you already sent to deploy the certificate .

all what we have did is renew the certificate then this issue start coming .

Hi,

If you attempt to access via HTTP rather than HTTPS, does it throw an error message at you?
Changing the SSL certificate shouldn't have caused any problems, if you haven't touched anything else. Since internal OWA client works fine, it seems that this issue isn't related to SSL certificate.

How about Outlook anywhere or other external client? Please run ExRCA to check OWA connection.
