PLEASE HELP. CAN'T LOG BACK IN TO ADMINISTRATORS DESKTOP. TASK MANAGER DOES NOT FUNCTION. PLEASE HELP.
I have a pc with 3 limited users and me as administrator. If I log out and go to a users desktop, then log out, I cannot log back in to my desktop--the screen goes black as though the machine is shut down and the screen indicates no signal. Occasionally, the screen comes back on but appears as though it trying to log onto another user desktop (remember, I gave the command to log onto my desktop). Also, the task manager does not work. after hitting ctrl alt del, nothing happens...only an incon in system tray for each attempt. Disable Task Manager is not active--value set to zero. I have been researching this problem for weeks and am unable to find a solution. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, George

Though, from first appearance, this appears to be in the wrong forum... more information would help. What OS? Fast User switching on or off? Stand-alone PC I'm assuming? Tried repairing the windows installation with whatever OS disc corresponds?

Thanks for responding. If this is the wrong forum please let me know where I should post...I'm new at this. XP Pro.Using 2 finger switching or actually logging off makes no difference. I don't know about "Fast User Switching". Stand alone PC. System did not come with OS disc.
