POP3 header error
I have been using the POP3 connector on SBS 2008 for about a year now and it works great despite what I have been reading. We are a small business and it works well to have the ISP host everything and we just pull it down to Exchange. Anyway, the only thing
I have found that I can't get around is when someone gets an email bounced back due to invalid email address, the POP3 connector will not pull it and throws an error about invalid headers. I then have to go to that mailbox via the web interface to the ISP
and manually delete that email. Not a huge deal but the emails that come in after that are stuck there until I clear the ones in front of them. I would like to be able to have the POP3 pull those down so users are aware of a bounced email.
Somewhat unrelated, I have also tried to have SBS2008 setup an Event Task to email me when and error is logged but I believe this is not working because it needs an SMTP server to send through and we do not use SMTP or is it included in SBS2008.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This appears to be a special issue with the SBS 2008 POP3 Connector and might be a known problem. You should post your question to the Small Business Server forum:

Basically you should move away from the POP3 Connector; it is only ment as an interim solution. SBS 2008 comes with an SMTP server, which happens to be Exchange 2007.MCTS: Messaging | MCSE: S+M
