POP3 problem
i need to use pop3 to connect outlook with exchange 2007.
the service run successfully, the configuration done correctlly " go to client access" ==> " pop3 and IMP4 " choose plain text logon (basic authontication).
port 110 for unencryption and TLS, and 995 for SSL .
when i try to connect with deafult port 110, it always gives me this error " log onto incoming mail server (pop3): the connection to the server was interrupted. if this problem continues, contact your server administrator or internet service provider (ISP). the server responded: The server responded: 421 4.3.2 Service not available, closing transmission channel'"
but when i use SSL( secure connection) using port 995 . it works ok.
note : no firewall betweeen server and client
when i try to telnet the port 995, it is ok
but when i try to telnet port 110 it gives me this msg " 421 4.3.2 Service not available, closing transmission channel"
any ideas ???

maybe you're having a similar issue as me - i'm assuming you have restarted your POP3 service on the client-access server? The service was running, but whenI configured my POP3 recently and went to restart the service after making the chagnes (the service needs to be restarted after making changes) , I get an error stating the service automatically stopped.Zach Smith
