POP and SMTP server settings
How do I find the smtp and pop server names in SBS exchange 2007? I'm trying to setup an email account through outlook to connect via pop, but I don't know the incoming and outgoing server addresses. How do I look up what this is?I've tried several "guesses" (pop.server, smtp.server) but got nowhere. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi, What is the host name of you exchange server in dns? What FQDN you use for connecting to your Exchange from public network? Normally people use mail.company.com. Have you setup it? If so then use that one. Regards,Laeeq Qazi|Team Lead(Exchange + Sharepoint + BES + DynamicsCRM) www.HostingController.com

This is a new client I just picked up and the server is in new york, and I just fixed their vpn connection from here in florida to the server there. Now I'm trying to fix their email. Everything works with it, I can telnet into port 110 and 25, but they're using OWA right now. There is a dns issue i'm trying to resolve right now which is causing many issues, so i'm trying to connect by local IP. So the server's name is sbserver. I know people normally use mail.server or pop.server or something like that but I've tried every combination I can think of and none work. So i'm wondering how can I log into the server and find out the person before me set this. -Thanks

The SMTP and POP server name is the FQDN of your SBS server. You need to add it to DNS in your ISP first.
