Hello,

I imported an Exchange PSSnapin to my management server. I tried to run the following command

get-mailboxdatabase | get-mailbox -resultsize unlimited | get-mailboxstatistics

I got the error listed in the screen capture.

When I run the command from an Exchange Management Shell opened on the Exchange server it worked as expected.

tip: if have got more DC try add -domaincotroller to command.

It looks like you are trying to load the management shell from a remote machine with the Exchange Tools installed. According to this blog that is not supported:

Recommendation is to use Powershell remoting for accessing the EMS.

I don't have Exchange tools installed on the management server. I used Powershell remoting like it is described in the blog.

I added more DCs, it did not help.

In the mean time I continued the investigation and got interesting results. Let me share it with you.

I run get-mailbodatabase db5 | get-mailbox -verbose in two different situation: EMS (exchange management shell) and Powershell remoting. In the face case, powershell searched for DB5 as MailboxDatabase, CORRECT!

However in the second case, DB5 was identified as ADuser, witch is WRONG!.
