PST Capture Console - Set to File Owner
I am sorry if this has been asked before or if its a fairly simple question to answer, but I honestly cannot figure out how to get the Set to File Owner to work in the Capture Console. I am still in the testing phase right now, so I only have PSTs
on one client machine. The console picks them up fine, and if I manually select the destination mailbox, everything works great. However, if I highlight the pst and click on the button "Set to File Owner", it does absolutely nothing.
I also tried right clicking on the pst and setting to file owner that way as well, same result...nothing happens. Problem is that I have roughly 5000 mailboxes, and it would take a long time to manually process through all of them via the manual method.
I am running Exchange 2010 SP1 RU3, Windows 2k8, clients are all outlook 2007 SP2. I have outlook 2010 64bit running on the same machine that I installed the client on.
Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy,
What about if you click the Set mailbox link in the Destination Mailbox column? See "Step 3: Perform a PST Import" in
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh781035.aspx.
If the issue continues, please verify the user account you are using to logon into PST Capture Console. And slso verify the applicatin event log to see if there is any error recorded. Thanks.

Sorry about that Fiona. I can in fact select the destination mailbox when I click on
Set Mailbox. The user account I am using is my own. I have exchange admin rights and local admin permissions on client and server machines. I have gone through the document you referenced, and still I am unable to use the
set file to owner. Any other suggestions?
Thanks

Hi Andy,
Thanks for your update.
Are you trying to import PST file to O365? If yes, then we can not use this button. see
http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2010/management-administration/microsoft-pst-capture-tool-part4.html
If this is no the case, please verify the application event log of the computer where you install the PST Capture tool to see if there is any error. Thanks.

Hello Fiona,
My exchange environment is on premises, and unfortunately I do not receive any errors in the application event viewer or the pst capture logs.
Thanks
Andy
