Patching Exchange.. Suspend CCR and SCR?
Hey all, I am getting ready to patch our messaging environment.. We have an Active\Passive CCR server and an SCR server at a different site for DR purposes. Is it best practice to suspent CCR and SCR log shipping until maint is complete? Thanks!

This is not necessary. Mike Crowley A+, Network+, Security+, MCT, MCSE, MCTS, MCITP: Enterprise Administrator / Messaging Administrator

I dont think so. Log shipping any ways will not impact the changes in the version of the exchange server. Even on http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb885043.aspxthis , this doesnt say any thing on stopping the log replication.Raj

Thanks guys.. I only ask because we had to delete and reseed one DB last month because the copy status reported as failed.. I don't recall if it had to do with patching though.

For all intensive purposes, patching just stops the log shipping and starts it again. This should not affect the consistancy of the other database unless something goes wrong. Mike Crowley A+, Network+, Security+, MCT, MCSE, MCTS, MCITP: Enterprise Administrator / Messaging Administrator
