People Pane Problem Outlook 2013

Hi,

I have a problem within Outlook 2013 running Windows 8.1 Media Center. The people pane in Outlook 2013, within an email isn't updated. The users images are displayed, but as you go through any of the tabs, whether that be the All tab, What's new, Mail, Attachments or Meetings there isn't any information at all. The company is Office 365 and if I log onto another machine running the same set up it works perfectly with the same users credentials.

I have already tried to recreate the profile on the same machine without any luck

I have some screenshots for your information, however I cannot post them here because I am not verified.

Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Liam

Hi,

If you try another user's credentials on this client, does the issue occur?

Please send the screenshots to our email address, this will also protect your private information:

Thanks for your reply Melon Chen. I have just sent an email along with the attachments to the address above.

I have not yet tried another user account on the machine, but I shall try that as soon as the workstation becomes available and be sure to post the results here.

I have just logged onto the same machine with the administrator account, created the mailbox again within outlook and the people pane worked without a problem.

Which makes me believe there is either something no running within outlook for that user, which would be causing the issue.

Liam

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I have tried to do both a quick repair and an online repair, neither of these made a difference. I have also checked within Outlook and the Outlook Social Connector is selected as a running add on.

Thanks for your continued help

Hi Melon Chen,

I have tried this on the users machine. Outlook was already in the indexing location so I have rebuilt the indexes.

Unfortunately this hasn't solved the issue either.

Any more help would be fantastic

Liam

Hi Liam,

I received your email and I can see the difference.

This feature is based on the Outlook Social Connector 2013 add-in as far as I know, we can try to repair the add-in if it somehow got damaged. To repair the add-in, we need to go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features to repair Office.

Hi,

Based on my research, Outlook uses the Windows Search index to retrieve the messages, please make sure Outlook is Indexed:

FILE -> Options -> Search -> Sources -> Indexing Options -> Make sure Outlook is listed in the Indexing locations, if no, click "Modify" -> Tick "Microsoft Outlook" -> OK.

If Outlook is already indexed, we can also rebuild the Index to check the result:

FILE -> Options -> Search -> Sources -> Indexing Options -> Advanced -> Rebuild button.
