Performance Baseline fails
Hi,I'm trying to test the performance baseline of my Exchange 2007 server, using the Best Pratices Analyzer. The thing is that it says that the test will take 2 hours, but it's over after 3 minutes, and does not show any information except the ones I get without checking the "performance baseline" checkbox. From the logs, it seems that the BPA is looking for some WMI information, and it could not find the namespace (invalid namespace). What am I doing wrong? The errors are the following:- <Run ConfigName="ExBPA Master Input File" ConfigVersion="12.11.16.0" Label="" Timeout="240" Threads="500" Operations="collect, analyze" Restriction="Server=,AdminGroup,Organization=Org,Domain,ADC Server,Health,Perf,1,2,3,4,5,General,Performance" StartTime="08/28/2008 12:05:01" AppVersion="3.3.240.3" Completed="OK" EndTime="08/28/2008 12:05:50" ObjectsTracked="0"> <Log Time="12:05:01.986">Starting Collecting Data phase.</Log> <Log Time="12:05:02.439">Processing Active Directory Schema...</Log> <Log Time="12:05:02.471">Processing Active Directory Sites...</Log> <Log Time="12:05:02.486">Processing Active Directory Connector Servers...</Log> <Log Time="12:05:02.596">Processing Active Directory Domain: DOMAIN...</Log> <Log Time="12:05:02.721">Processing Active Directory Connector Connection Agreements...</Log> <Log Time="12:05:02.721">Processing Exchange Organization...</Log> <Log Time="12:05:02.736">Processing Transport Settings...</Log> <Log Time="12:05:02.908">Processing System Policies...</Log> <Log Time="12:05:02.908">Processing Recipient Policies...</Log> <Log Time="12:05:02.924">Processing Recipient Update Services...</Log> <Log Time="12:05:02.939">Error (Invalid namespace ) on WMI search SELECT * FROM Exchange_FolderTree WHERE MapiFolderTree='True' on scope root\MicrosoftExchangeV2 on server EXCHANGE, skipping object.</Log> <Log Time="12:05:07.861">Completed Collecting Data phase.</Log> <Log Time="12:05:08.064">Error (Rule name 'iStatSummaryTotalExchange2000Servers' referenced by rule 'fSendConnectorDisabled' in input file is not defined) in format of rules in configuration file.</Log> <Log Time="12:05:08.064">Error (Rule name 'iStatSummaryTotalExchange2000Servers' referenced by rule 'fForeignConnectorDisabled' in input file is not defined) in format of rules in configuration file.</Log> <Log Time="12:05:08.486">Starting Postprocessing Rules phase.</Log> <Log Time="12:05:08.518">Couldn't find pivot OABServer in XML</Log> <Log Time="12:05:08.518">Completed Postprocessing Rules phase.</Log> <Log Time="12:05:50.830">Unable to connect to the remote server</Log> </Run>Thanks.

Hello, Are you running ExBPA for Exchange 2007 Readiness Check on local Exchange 2003 server or are you running it remotely? It looks like ExBPA is not able to connect to root\MicrosoftExchangeV2 WMI namespace of your server named Exchange. Run it on any of the Exchange 2003 Server locally and try.

I'm running BPA locally on my Exchange 2007 servers.I already tried running on the one with the Mailbox Role, and on the other one that has Client and Hub transport roles. It gives me the same error.

Hi, Is there any Exchange Server 2003 in your Exchange Organization? I found that the namespace Root\MicrosoftExchangeV2 is for Exchange 2003. Managing Exchange 2003 with WMI http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/topics/exchange/ex03_wmi1.mspx You may try to use WBEMTEST to check whether it can execute the WMI Query . Note: Please run wbemtest from a command prompt. 1. Please click connect and then type root\MicrosoftExchangeV2,Connect. 2. Click query and then type SELECT * FROM Exchange_FolderTree WHERE MapiFolderTree='True' to perform the query. Besides, when you select baseline scan, please note Specify the scope for this scan, whether you have select Exchange Server 2003 or Exchange Server 2000. Also Id like to know what is your baseline option. Whether you have sp1 installed with your Exchange Server 2007. Hope it helps. Xiu
