Phantom email sent when accepting a meeting request
The Dean's secretary who handled his email retired. Now when the Dean sends a meeting request using Outlook 2010/Exchange Server 2007 to another staff person a phantom email is sent when the staff person accepts the request. The phantom
email is attempting to send to the Exchange account that no longer exists for the retired secretary. Each staff person receives a meesage saying "Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists".
The Dean's calendar is not shared with the non-existent email account nor do I see any permissions on the Dean's account.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Check the delegates on Dean's calendar and see delegates receive a copy of the request.Sukh

The Dean looked to see if he had any delegates. He does not have any delegates listed. I don't see any reference to the retired staff person's account in the Dean's permissions on the workstation or the server.
Does anyone know how to search the AD for any reference to the retired person's account?Donna K. Appleget

Check Dean's account in adsiedit to see if publicDelegates has the PA in there?

Here's what happens:
1. Dean sends meeting request.
2. recipient accepts.
3. recipient receives an email saying "Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists". The error lists the email address of the staff person who no longer has an email account.Donna K. Appleget

Ok I think I figured it out.

Apparently, when we deleted the secretary's email account a rule was orphaned in Outlook. I ran "outlook.exe /cleanrules" on his computer and tested the results. No more phantom messages.
