Could you tell me which way did you open the excel file? Online or download the file to local folder?
I test your issue in my own environment. First I open the file with the copy PivotTable online in Dropbox, and I get an error message as shown in the following figure.Then I download the whole folder which include
2 files (The master PivotTable file and The copy PivotTable file), I also get an error message as shown in the following figure.
Excel will auto fill the path from relative to absolute path after closing the file. This means that the full path to the source data file is not recorded, but rather the portion of the path as it relates to the linked workbook. So The
copy PivotTable file cant get the data from The master PivotTable file
I zip the folder and upload it, I download the zip file and expand it, I didnt get any error message any more as shown in the following figure. I suppose you can use this workaround to solve your issue.
