Pop3 Connector and SBS 2008
I have a SBS 2008 running Exchange 2007. We are using an ISP for email and connecting using the POP3 connector. Users are not getting emailsthat are larger then 10mb.This happens to all users. Here is the errorI am getting from the Event log:
One or more messages (1) were left in the 'userid@company.com' account on the POP3 server 'mail.company.com' because they are larger than the maximum acceptable message size (the largest message is 16967379 bytes). You can either connect to the POP3 account and retrieve or delete the messages manually, or increase the maximum acceptable message size in Exchange Server. Can you change the max message size on the Pop3 connector or is the limit 10mb?

Hi,
This issue is related to the setting of Receive Connector in Exchange 2007.
Please make a change based on the below article:
How Do I Change Message Size Limits in Exchange 2007 http://blogs.technet.com/sbs/archive/2008/10/28/how-do-i-change-message-size-limits-in-exchange-2007.aspx
After that, please check this issue.
Thanks
Allen

We ended up switching from the POP3 connector to SMTP. So far the issue has not returned.

I think this was your problem. I was having the same problem, and for some reason, you have to increase this value as well. After I did so, Exchange was able to pull all large messages from my POP3 host. However, I am still having a problem with Exchange actually delivering the messages to the recipients.
