Possible bug in build .5002

Hello,

Sorry for my English :)

we have a problem after refreshing build 5002 (Office 2010 pro Hungarian 32 bit). The patches was installed by wsus.

The problem is the following:

We have old tempaltes created by Word 2007, the editing of text boxes in this template worked until the build 5002 of Word 2010. In version .5000 it works well. All of our computers has same problem in the company network and the sympthom same in the case of all same templates.

When that documents are unlocked, it seems the type of that object are unknown instead of textbox...

Do somebody know any solution or a KB number which has a possibility with its uninstallation for rollback to .5000 ?

Kind regards

Zoltan

Hi,

Would you like to provide us the whole version ID? Like 14.0.xxxx.5000.( Because we need to whole version ID to determine the KB number)

I recommend we check the Office updates which were installed recently, see the following path: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features\View installed updates. And, we could uninstall these updates to confirm the issue if is caused by the update patches.

Then, you also could explain your issue more detailed, we may try the other way to troubleshoot/fix the template issue.

Hope it's helpful.

Hi,

Thank you for the answer. The whole ID is: 14.0.7140.5002  ( the working one is 14.0.6129.5000 )

For testing the issue, here is an example file with 2 input text boxes and with 2 check boxes.

The check boxes are working well in both version of the Office, but the text boxes are works only in the oldest version (version described above).

Hi,

Sorry for reply delay, based on my test, this issue might be caused by the Microsoft Office Security Updates for December 2014. Please try to follow this blog the fix the issue:
