Prerequisites fail
I'm attempting to install the Exchange 2007 SP1 Edge role on a Windows 2008 SP2 server but I cannot get past the prerequiste check: It fails with:[ERROR] A reboot from a previous installation is pending. Please restart the system and rerun setup.Needless to say I can reboot this machine until the cows come home and it will make no difference. The server had the Edge role installed on it in the past during trials (W2K8SP1 back then) but it was uninstalled and the server renamed.

Thanks Syed,That idea goes no-where.I got hold of the most up-to-date install files and they were identical to those I was installing from previously. The files, including "exchangeserver.msi", are dated 27/11/2007.The annoying thing is that this server had the Edge role installed not so long ago.Paul

My guess is there is something the Exchange installation does not like about Windows 2008 SP2.Is there anyway to skip the pre-requisite checks, or at least skip the one causing the problem?

Well it isn't SP2 because I uninstalled it.This ridiculous pre-requisite check won't even allow me to install the management console!

Ha, that looks exactly like I was looking for. Unfortunately the server is gone as reinstalling it became the quicker option! Thanks Amit.
