Go to address book, find the guy from Global Address List. Open and save, and you would receive a "Update" dialog, continue to complete it
And please download Offline Address Book manually to update your local OAB to check the result. Thanks.

Tony,
Thanks for answering. I tried to do what you ask. The thing is when I go to address book for that guy (right click on contact from open message, choose "Open Outlook properties" - see first capture - , the presence indicator is correct in there and I don't have "Open" or "Save" commands (so I do not receive an "Update dialog").
Also the Outlook properties dialog does have a correct presence indicator, I have a green "Actions" button in dialog (cannot show it here due to the 2 attached pictures limit).
Even stranger, when I click on "Actions" and then dismiss the dialog that opens, the presence then becomes unknown :
So what's going on ? What's wrong
We need to click "Add to contacts" and update the current contact,
However, per your screenshot, it seems the contact information is not the latest update of contact. I suspect you have failed to update OAB in your local machine.
Have you tried to download Offline Address Book manually from Send/Receive Tab > Send/Receive groups > Download Address book. If you have received any error code or message during the process, please post it here. Thanks.
Cheers,

Hi Tony !
I have now clicked on the "add to address book" and saved & closed (several times). I indeed have and "update" prompt, which I confirmed.
Upon doing this, the presence problem is not solved.
I will try to re explain what I'm doing.
1/ Context
I have Outlook 2013 (actually Office 2013 pro plus) installed. I'm accessing an Exchange 2010 server (I gues quite up to date) in exchange cached mode. We also have Lync 2013 configured and working (presence is correct in Lync). I also have the Outlook social connectors configured for LinkedIn, Facebook & Sharepoint (SP being the default).
2/ Problem
When I open a message, no presence is shown in the "From" field (but it is shown in "To" and "Cc" !)
See picture :
Now, when I right click on John entry, I get a presence unknown status :
I will continue in another post since we're limited to 2 images per post.... (hope I can !)
... so here we go
In the previous post screenshot, when I click "Open Outlook properties", I get :
And guess what ? the status si correct on the "Actions" button !!!
Then I click this button, and get a nice contact detatils bow :
Continues in next post....
.... continuation
Now when I dismiss the previous post contact details dialog, the presence is back to unknow in the previous "Outlook properties" dialog ! puzzling isn't it ?
continues in next post...
and of course (logical this time), when now I click the "Actions" button, I have now and "unknwon presence" status :
...continued
Notice that Lync status for John is OK !
So you know almost everything now (look at my reply on your other post below about Online mode).
A last point about Offline Address book : I did try a complete fresh download : no errors. And the problem remains.
Tony,
You got a point here : testing in online mode works !
Back to exchange cached mode and the problem is back.
Thanks for all !

Pierre,
This issue is a bug that is being investigated for a fix in a future update. A customer in this forum thread opened a support case to submit the fix request, http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/officeitpro/thread/a2500fec-fc3f-4295-bbe3-7620876a2d24.
Thanks Gabriel.
I will wait for a fix then (How to be informed ?) !
Dear Gabriel,
Great ! I hope the hotfix won't be too long to come as this is rather annoying. I stay tuned !

I will post back to the forum thread with a link to the Hotfix when it comes out. Sorry, should have mentioned that earlier.

Any news about the Hotfix ?
Check out the other thread. The new hotfix helped me, after changing the theme to "White".
Hello all !
After applying todays updates (from Windows Update), the problem seems to be fixed. Can anyone confirm ? Thanks

Thanks in advance.
