Preventing / Monitoring Mail Forwarding
Hi Guys,Hoping you can help please! In Exchange 2003, I'm hoping to do be able to do three things, which I don't know how to do so far, namely:1) Prevent all users (in a very large configuration) from forwarding their mail to another mail account from the Outlook client end.2) Prevent all users from forwarding their mail to another mail account from the Exchange server end.3) Discover which users currently have all their mail forwarded to another account from either the server or client side.Do you have any ideas how to do that? Or is it even possible at all?Any help would be majorly appreciated. Thank you!Ian F > ianf32@yahoo.co.uk

Hi Ian,1) You can clear Allow automatic forward box in Internet Message Formats of Global Settings to disallow forward mails to outside organization from Outlook client rule to all users in your organization.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/317652However it doesnt stop forwarding if it is configured in AD user properties deliver options.2) Well this is not possible and you need to monitor regularly that who has forwarder set at AD levelhttp://exchangeshare.wordpress.com/2008/05/26/faq-find-all-users-with-forwarding-address-is-set/3) For AD level as per the link in point 2.For the outlook client level rules, check below great script from GlenReporting on forwarding rules in Mailboxes and Public Folders via a scripthttp://gsexdev.blogspot.com/2005/10/reporting-on-forwarding-rules-in.html Amit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
