Probe Exception: 'Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.D umpsterOperationException: Copy to dumpster failed

I see multiple of these monitoring alerts each day. I have tried moving the mailboxes to different databases and restarting servers, but these keep happening. Different users each time but occasionally repeated. Any ideas how to correct this?

Hi,

This is a known issue in Microsoft about Alerts from SCOM state that some Exchange Server 2013 Managed Availability health sets are in the unhealthy state:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3026674

I suggest we can upgrade your Exchange 2013 to the latest version to check whether the issue persists. Currently, the latest patches about Exchange 2013 is Exchange 2013 CU9:

The KB 3026674 you referenced was for a different health set "Microsoft.Office.Datacenter.ActiveMonitoring.OverallConsecutiveSampleValueAboveThresholdMonitor type".

The KB indicates it was fixed in CU8. I have CU8 installed.

The health set error I keep seeing is "Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.DumpsterOperationException: Copy to dumpster failed"

I am installing CU9 this weekend. Maybe that will resolve it but I have been seeing this issue since at least CU6.

Hi,

Any updates? Have the issue resolved after installing Exchange 2013 CU9?

If the issue persists, please run the following command to ensure that these alerts are not generated as a workaround:

Add-GlobalMonitoringOverride -ItemType Monitor -PropertyName Enabled -PropertyValue 0 -Duration 365.00:00:00 -Identity 'Compliance\Hold.HoldErrors.Monitor'

CU9 did not resolve the issue. I still see the monitor alerts. I am hesitant adding

Add-GlobalMonitoringOverride -ItemType Monitor -PropertyName Enabled -PropertyValue 0 -Duration 365.00:00:00 -Identity 'Compliance\Hold.HoldErrors.Monitor'

As this will override the monitor for 1 year instead of fixing it correct?
