Problem changing single occurences on a recurring event.
I have a recurring event setup on a public calendar in Exchange 2003 Standard. I had a problem with an event when I wanted to make changes to individual occurrences of the event. For example I have a boat trip setup for 3:00PM every Tues. - Wed. - Thurs.- Fri. and it is setup to never end. This event does not change except for the Driver and Boat assigned for a particular day which is setup in the Notes section of the event. It worked for about a year but recently when I would try to make changes it would give me an error: Two occurrences of "appointment subject" cannot happen on the same day. Searching around on the net for answers I found that some Microsoft professionals say this is not the proper way to use recurring events. My question is: What is the "Microsoft Way" to handle recurring events on a calendar?

I dont know what the Microsoft way is, but resource mailboxes are a much better place to create shared calendars rather than a public folder calendar.

Great info James. Couple questions if I may. 1. Does Exchange 2007 Standard have the same limit? 2. What error message or alert (if any) would a user see when the 248 exception limit has been reached? Starting to wonder if this limit may be the cause of Exchange conflict errors we are seeing with repeating events that have exceptions.
