We are using Altiris for patch deployment and we encounter problems with following 2 patches: kb2956076 and kb2920812 which are part of MS15-022.

Altiris says MS15-022 patch is needed on our machines but it always fails with error 17031 (we are on version 14.0.7143.5000 of Office 2010 Professional Plus. (Dutch Belgium)

When we execute the patches manually:
msoloc2010-kb2956076-fullfile-x86-glb.exe 
powerpointloc-kb2920812-fullfile-x86-glb.exe 
we receive the message: The expected version of the product was not found on the system.

We then extracted the exe files and executed mso-x-none.msp and powerpoint-x-none manually and the installation succeeds.  Office version is then upgraded to 14.0.7145.5000

anyone can help us with this?  Why do the exe files fail and the msp files succeed?
