Problem with AD group after migrating from exchange 2010to 2013

Hi,

just managed to migrate from Exchange 2010 to 2013 and here is how my environment look like:

Exchange 2010:

Exchange: CAS,HUB and Unified messaging

DAG1:Mailbox

DAG02:Mailbox

Exchange 2013:

Exchange: CAS

DAG01:Mailbox

DAG02:Mailbox

So far everything looks fine.Manage to move all mailboxes to the new 2013 environment.OWA,OAB,Outlook,Autodiscover ..yes everything works so far in the new enviroment.

My problem is when i access ECP in 2013 enviroment,i cannot see all Distribution, security or Access groups. For now i have 13 total in AD,but in ECP i can only see 7.Its mixed of Global and security groups and most are created in AD.First i thought it was delay in AD replication, but now it has been 3 days and still only 7/13 groups are visible. The issue I have with this is when i want to add one of these groups to grant full access or full send as permission in a user mailbox or shared mailbox,i cannot see these groups!

Another problem is when i create Room mailbox from AD,when i go in ECP of 2013 environment i cannot add existing room mailbox. In Exchange 2010 this was possible, but i can do this for existing user in 2013 environment.

Is this a bug or something im missing out?I could probably search on how to do it from EMC,but why can i not do it from ECP?

Thanks

Hi,

I don't think Global group will appear in ECP , please make sure all group must be Universal  scoped.

How will you create Room mailbox from  AD ?

This needs to be create in ECP or EMS .

What do mean by " when i go in ECP of 2013 environment i cannot add existing room mailbox "

if do you have already created mailbox (user mailbox) for Room mailbox purpose , then you can covert user mailbox to Room by below cmdlet :

Set-Mailbox MailboxName -Type Room

As mention earlier i tested With both Universal and global. This Works in Exchange 2010 enviroment.

I did a copy of room mailbox in AD, this  Works in Exchange 2010,

Will test if i need to add existing user then do converting in EMS

Thanks for reply

Sry for late respond.

Have now tested to create room mailbox from existing user in ECP,but still cant see that user/room mailbox i created in AD (copy from existing room mailbox in ad).

Ended up with using powershell to enable mailbox from existing user then convert it to room mailbox.

I still find it strange that ECP doesnt  see tha room mailbox i created in AD.

Anyway thanks for respons and hope this will be fixed in future update.
