Problem with Product key/configuration!

Hi there,

I have Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 installed on my notebook. Word, Excel, Powerpoint were all working fine but I needed to use Access and it said it was unlicensed and was a trail version. I am doing field work remotely so do not have access to my original product key so I asked someone I knew from the UK to send me their product key since I knew they had the software for up to 3 computers but had only used it for 1. I then typed in this product key but it a) does not seem to be working: after the configuration stage nothing happened, and b) has now also disabled my other programs including Word and Excel. I urgently need to use these programs for my work but have neither the CDs to reinstall (I also don't have a CD drive) or a product key that seems to be working. I am living in a rainforest with minimal internet connection so downloads are also slow and often fail, so I am searching a solution which I can do easily without the need for much internet data, if it exists!

Any help would be much appreciated as I am delayed in my field work as I cannot create my database, or even use Excel in the meantime!

Many thanks

Hi,

Please note, the Office version you are using doesn't contain Access, you will need to either use a new version of Office which has Access, or install a standalone version of Access.

Also I don't suggest you use other user's product key to activate Office, we suggest our users use their own product keys.

Since you don't have a stable Internet connection, I think you will need to get a backup copy of Office; as you can't find your product key either, I suggest you contact the customer service to ask what suggestion they can provide:
