I purchased Microsoft Word at Best Buy for my lap top that they had supposedly fixed. When they realized it wasn't fixed and would cost me too much money I told them to just sell me another one. They did but they couldn't transfer the program to the new lap top. So they said I'd have to wait 3 months to transfer it. Now what do I do. All this happened on 5-25-2015 Help!

We have definitely heard your frustration, I recommend you give a call to Microsoft Customer Service Center  http://support.microsoft.com/gp/customer-service-phone-numbers/en-us. They'll help you to transfer Office program.

Can I transfer the software to another computer or user? You may transfer the software to another computer that belongs to you, but not more than one time every 90 days (except due to hardware failure, in which case you may transfer sooner).
