Hi all, I`ve problems installing Exchange in a Child domain. We`re run the Schema Prepon the Root domain without problems (at the Schema Master machine). This is what I had to do in our existing exchange 2003/W2k3 domain 4 stages 1. In the root domainsetup /PrepareLegacyExchnagePermissions /domaincontrollerC1.rootdom.co.nzwait for replication to ALL domain controllers - repadmin /showrepl 2. In the root domainsetup.com /PrepareSchema wait for replication to ALL domain controllers - repadmin /showrepl 3. In the root domain only Setup.com /PrepareADwait for replication to ALL domain controllers - repadmin /showrepl 4. Run this from you forest root for each domain that will have exchange 07 installedSetup.com /PrepareDomain:childdom.rootdom.co.nz Are you using Exchange 07 SP1? You can do a completeexchange installation from the SP1 DVD, otherwise you will have to do the AD preparation again for the SP. Have fun.

I am having the same problem here, I got all the prep done in my root domain but I'm still getting the same error. My problem is that My DC on the root domain are 32 bit OS, and I cannot find Exchange 2007 32 bit with SP1 to run the prep on my root DC, any ideas short of rebuilding the DC with 64 bit OS Thanks R

My solution was quiet simple, I moved a 64 server into the root domain and ran the prep from there all is good now. R

Hi RCLN, You can download the "LAB (Trial)" version of Exchange 2007 32bits, and run all Schema and PrepareAD from CMD. Regards,
