Problems booking meetings after converting direct booking resources to auto accept resources in Exchange 2003
We have been experiencing problems booking meetings since converting to the Auto Accept agent method. All of the conference rooms were set up for direct booking and they've all been converted to Auto Accept. As part of the conversion, the default
permissions were changed from Author to Reviewer. Now, when some users who have previously booked meetings in these rooms try to book new meetings, they receive the following error pop up from Outlook:
"You marked "<conference room>" as a resource. You cannot schedule a meeting with "<conference room>" because you do not have the appropriate permissions for that account. Either enter the name as a required or optional attendee or
talk to your administrator about giving you permission to schedule "<conference room>"".
This only happens with users who have previously booked these converted rooms. I cannot reproduce the error with test accounts with identical access.
It is as if Outlook has cached the permissions for the resource as a direct booking resource and will not try to book it with the new Auto Accept agent method.
This is in both Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 clients, running both XP and Windows 7. All Exchange servers are 2003.
Has anyone seen anything like this?
Thanks.
