Hello, all...

Look, I'm getting really sick of having to have security codes being sent to other email addresses for verification.  Especially since I travel a lot and use different IPs all over the country and have Thunderbird stored on a portableapps.com drive.

I also sometimes use a VPN where the IP is also dynamic.

Is there any way to opt out totally of all this paranoid nonsense?  It is REALLY getting in the way.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks...

Hi,

If it is an Outlook.com account that you are using, then I should say they didn't understand your issue quite well.

The account needs to be verified for security purposes, it's not controlled by the client side but the account itself, they should explain how to choose an easier method for you to verify the account or whether it's possible to skip this procedure.

Anyway, you are using Thunderbird, not Outlook, I don't understand why they redirected you here... Explain this to them and maybe they should escalate this to the second tier.

This isn't an answer and I'm going to leave the thread open until Microsoft allows people a choice for enhanced security the way yahoo mail and gmail do. 

The whole thing is predicated on using security as an excuse to give out more information about yourself.  And we all know information about people is about greed and about money.  And greed & money are 'golden'.  I'm not giving out my telephone number.  I don't trust you all with it.  It's that simple.
