Problems with MS Exchange 2007 System Attendant
Hi We are running Exchange 2007 on Windows 2008 servers. The set up is A/A/P cluster. One on of the mailbox nodes, I keep having an issue with the System Attendant stopping. I have read this article here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb738153(EXCHG.80).aspx, but it doesn't say much apart from to start logging the following counters: MSExchangeMU\General MSExchangeSA\Clean Mailbox MSExchangeSA\NSPI Proxy MSExchangeSA\RFR Interface MSExchangeSA\OAL Generator MSExchangeSA\Proxy Generation MSExchangeSA\RPC Calls MSExchangeSA\RPC-HTTP Management What are the the acceptable levels for the above counters and what do I do if they are above the safe threshold? Finally, what exactly does the SA do in Exchange 2007?

Hi, The level is Expert, you can improve the level, then check whether any error message related to SA is received in the Event Log. Then post here. The reponsibilities of the SA are maintaining communication with AD, generating OAB and so on. You can refer to the below article: http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2007/planning-architecture/how-exchange-server-2007-core-services-work-together.html Thanks AllenAllen Song
