Properties no visible for Public Folders in Exchange SP1
I searched around but couldn't find anyone else having this problem. If it's discussed somewhere else, I'd appreciate a point in the right direction. If not, here goes... I cannot see any Properties for Public Folders in the PF Management Console. I'm a member of Exchange Org Admins (and PF Admins, too). I can issue commands from the shell, so it seems I do have proper rights. This is the same in my prod environment, as well as my dev. Any ideas? I'm trying to mail-enable a PF and to manage the email addresses of it. I could do it from the shell, as I mentioned, but I'd prefer to do it from the gui and clearly something's not right. Thanks! Tim

How are you accessing those folders? The gui is kinda weird. You need to right-click the folder when its visible within the right-hand screen, not the left ( if that makes sense). Look at my lousy drawing below. If you want to view the properties of the child folder, make sure its on the right hand side when viewing.________________________________________________________ | | | Folder | Child

Quote: “I cannot see any Properties for Public Folders in the PF Management Console” Where did you look for the properties? As Andy said, it’s in the right-pane, the “Action” pane. Can you see the “Properties” and “Mail Enable” button from there?

Adding to others. The below one has pretty neat picture about PF Management Console. Try to customize the same and try the steps mentioned below Managing Public Folders with Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|

Thanks, Andy! I must admit, I feel a little stupid. I had selected the object I wanted to mail-enable on the left and there was nothing on the right (it has no child objects). With the child selected, the Actions pane doesn't contain Properties. It didn't occur to me that I needed to select the parent on the left, so I could select properties for the child on the right. I probably should have figured that out, though. At any rate, you set me straight. Thanks again! -Tim P.S. Thanks to everyone else for the supporting documentation!
