Hi, You can assign Author permission to user to block them modify others Calendar Schedule. In addition, when user update his calendar schedule in the Public Folder, it will not replace others booking. Instead, the conflict calendars will exist in the Public Folder. Please understand that in the Outlook client, soon after a meeting request arrives in the Inbox, a piece of Outlook code - nicknamed the "sniffer" - automatically adds/updates the meeting to your calendar. This is a fail-safe to keep users from missing meetings in case the request is not seen in the Inbox. There is no such code on a Public Folder since public folders are simply repository for data. hi Mike, thanks for your advice. that means there's still be a change to have overlap booking for calendar in public folders, right? what i would like to do is to have a public calendar for resources booking (e.g. projectors, meeting rooms, etc.). is there's anyway to fullfill the need? Prescott

Hi Prescott, Please understand that the sniffer only handle meeting/appointment request in the inbox folder. In addition, the Public Folder Calendar is just repository for data. Thus, I am afraid there is no method to automatically handle conflict meeting/appointment request in Public Folder Calendar. Prescott, to work around the issue, I suggest that you can simply create a separate Resource Mailbox and use direct booking to Resource Mailbox Calendar. For detailed information: How to direct book a resource in Outlook http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291616/en-us In addition, Microsoft also developed a more complicated tool regarding the issue.
