Public Folder Calendars over OWA
I have Exchange 2003 sp2. I have created numerous public folder calendars in outlook and have assigned the default and anoymous user permissions to none and have added my appropriate users and assigned them publishing editor. In Outlook, the permissions work like they should. However, when I use OWA, the permissions do not work, I don't get any errors, I just don't see the folders. But when I assign the default user permissions other than none, it works, based on those permissions only. Is there in issue with public folder calendars over OWA? Thanks.

Hi Brian,
Please check whether the Anonymous Access was enabled on the Public Virtual Directory. If this authentication method is enabled, please uncheck it and test the issue again.
I would like to explain that if the Anonymous Access is enabled on the Public Virtual Directory, the system will use Anonymous Account to access the Public Folder by default. Thus, if the Anonymous Account does not have Folder Visible permission for the folders, the users cannot see the folders even if they have sufficient permission.

Hey Mike,
Thanks for the response. When I unchecked Anonymous Access, its now asking for a username/password when I click on the public folders button in OWA. I'ved tried entering myusername/password but they won't take. With Anonymous Access checked, I could get to the Public Folders, I just couldn't see any of them. Got any more suggestions? Thanks.

Hi Brian,
1. Please let me know what error is encountered when attempting to access Public Folder after typing user name and password after clicking Public Folder through OWA.
2. Please also attempt to access the URL (http://<servername>/public) to access Public Folder directly and let me know whether the same error is encountered.
Note: Please use the <domain>\<user name> Format to test the issue.
3. Please also attempt to access (http://<servername>/public) on the Exchange Server directly to avoid network issue.
In addition, please let me know your authentication configuration on the Public Virtual Directory.
