Public Folder edb's
I'm new to Exch 2007 and did not setup my customers current system. The CAS server has two public folder databases on it. First SG has a public folder mailbox edb and the second SG has a public folder edb. What is the purpose or reason for the pub folder mailbox edb?

I just realised that server also has the mailbox role, the public folder mailbox edb is from that function. public folder mailbox just happens to be the name.

So, is there still a question here? --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Hi, By default, the new installation of exchange 2007 mailbox role server will have two Storage groups (if you answer "Yes" to the question: "Do you have any client computers running Outlook 2003 and earlier or Entourage in your organization?" when installing): First Storage Group, it contains one Mailbox Database. Second Storage groups, it contains one Public Folder Database. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. Thanks
