Public Folder migration necessary if not in use?
We're busy migrating a client to Exchange 2013, and I'm wondering whether I need to run any of the public folder migration tasks/scripts if the client is not using public folders at all? Are there any System public folders that are still used in Exchange
2013 environments?
Thanks,
Ray

Hi,
Exchange 2013 doesn't use System Folders No and if you're not using any Public Folders in the ORG you can delete the Public Folder Database. Just follow the instructions in the below TechNet Article, section Remove the last public folder database from
an organization.
Remove Public Folder Databases

This is something that you can do before any mailboxes has been moved to Exchange 2013 if you want to.

Many thanks all. I think to be safe we'll move all mailboxes to 2013 first, and then look at decommissioning the public folder DBs on the 2007 servers.
