Public Folders Hang - SBS 2003
I have very limited experience with resolving Exchange issues. This is an SBS 2003 SP2 Server with Exchange 2003 SP2I'm trying to add a public folder to receive mail. I set up the public folder with Outlook 2003 and assigned permissions. But when I try to mail enable the folder using the Exchange Systems Manager the Public Folder won't expand. The Exchange System Manager program just hangs when the +public folder is clicked. If I right click on the +public folder I get a properties window that has the public folder properties for the MAPI Tree. I also tried creating a new public folder but it just hangs after I assign the name and click apply or OK. Next, I close down ESM. A program not responding window pops up. The error is "Hanging Application mmc.exe version 5.2.3790.3959 address is 0x00000000. The path is Administrative Groups>first administrative group>Folders>Public Folders. If I browse to Administrative Groups>first administrative group>Servers>ServerName>First Storage Group>Public Folder Store>Public Folders I can see the folder I created from Outlook and the OAB, Contacts, etc. folders. I can also see the folder I created in outlook in the Instances folder.
The ESM program also hangs when I click on Help while accessing the Public Folder menus. The ESM works fine for all the other Exchange tasks and menus.
I will appreciate any assistance you can provide.
