Public Folders Not Showing

Hi all,

Am at the end of my migration which has been relatively good and have now migrated all public folders. However they display to internal users and not external. Looking at it I suspect it is obviously autodiscover related however using testconnectivity.microsft.com I get green tickets for autodiscover and can setup accounts fine using it.

I have checked the public folder and have given it an smtp address off publicfolder@domain.com so that it is autodiscover  resolvable. This is obviously the same domain as the domain of my mailbox e.g. test@domain.com

I am using Outlook 2013 and the public folder doesn't display at all, not even to try and expand. Have tried setting up a new profile and have also tried removing the smtp address. Have now tried with a second domain that has public folder and this has the same issue but is again view able internally.

Any ideas?

Please describe how you migrated public folders.  It sounds as if the last steps may have not been completed.

Hi,

Does the issue occur on OWA?

According to your post, I understand external users can't view public folders.

Please make sure you have assigned correct permission for public folders.

I noticed you have finished the migration.

Did you change the default Public Folder database on the Client Settings tab of the mailbox database to point to the new public folder database?

Regards,

Hi Ed,

I ran all the steps mentioned here:

http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2013/migration-deployment/migrating-public-folders-exchange-2013-part1.html

I can open the publci folders ok via OWA and when internal, but cannot open externally.

I believe I have completed everything ok, I have unlocked all PF Mailboxes and all internal users can see them. I have also then set the single mailbox I have as the default for all users. The legacy databse is now unmounted and no longer used.

Many Thanks

Jason

Is this on 2010 or on 2013? Not aware of 2013 having a default public folder setting within that tab

Did you complete the steps in Part 2?  I didn't read that to see if it's complete, but this is the official guide.
