Hey, I want to publish my Exchange 2003 Server on Internet. I do have Public IP and my network design is like this Internet -> ASA (Public IP) -> ISA -> Exchange Server 2003 Please guide me how can i publish my Exchange Server 2003. I already have configured Virtual SMTP Connector which is used on my internal LAN and want to use the same with External LAN as well. Just want my users to access their emails outside the organizations

if you want to able to send and recieve emails from internet you already have done enough. i assume your MX record is pointing already to the public ip address on the Exchange server. however if you want users to be able to access their emails using OWA or RPC/HTTPS it is recomended you deploy front end-backend topology and use ISA server to publish http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996980(EXCHG.65).aspx http://www.isaserver.org/tutorials/2004owafba.html if you decide to install front end server. you may want to point MX record to thsi server Thank youDhruv

Dhruv, My Exchange Server/OWA is working fine inside the organization for the last few years now i want to make it accessible outside the Organization (on internet) for management purpose. i have configured my Front-End Server with the help of this link http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996980(EXCHG.65).aspx but am unable to configure SSL on the Deafult Website secondly my Public IP is on CISCO ASA and i configured Port Forwarding /Redirection but i am not able to access the http://xxxx/exchange from internet my exchange server is (Version 6.5 Build 6944.4). Do i still need Exchange Server 2003 Sp1 ??

It seems you are dong double NAT. You can't have ISA behind he ASA, if then why you wanna do it. Assign a Public IP to the ISA and then Publish the OWA behind the ISA. This is how it works.Where Technology Meets Talent

Your exchange 2003 and send and receive email from internal user. You just want to publish owa on internet. Then your user can check and reply email from outside. I list steps of this process. 1. Install one NIC card on exchange 2003 server. Assign public IP (1.1.1.1) on this card. 2. You should see http://1.1.1.1/exchange outside. Can you see web page? (network problem) 3. There are two ways to do it Either Publish behind ISA or use it behind the ASA. For ASA Ask your Cisco guy to forward the public ip to the internal ip address of your OWA. There is no need to add anothter NIC. Create the DNS entry such as owa.yourdomain.com and point to the public ip address which is NATTED on the Cisco ASA. Same way you can publish behind the ISA, ISA will mke it more secure. do not connect ISA behind the ASA, it should be connected to the perimeter switch or the router.
