Hi,

I am trying to publish to reporting services and getting an error.

I select "Reports -> Publish -> To Reporting Services" and then the location comes up "http://servername:84/ReportServer/PPS/BusinessReports" which is fine. But when I click next then I get an error message:

"A connection cannot be established to the server. Verify the server exists and can accept connections and that you have adequate permissions to publish reports."

The user I am logged in as, has full rights within SRS (Browser, Content Manager, My Reports, Publisher, Report Builder). So what am I missing?

By chance is the fact that SRS is on a different port causing the problem?

Something else I should check?

I can't see anything obvious that be related to the port number. Can you publish successfully from Visual Studio's authoring environment?

I don't work a lot with VS so can you give me more specifics on what you want me to try?

I do know I can create new reports with Report Builder within SRS.

Does the PPS Identity Account have the correct access to SSRS? I believe PPS publishes to SSRS using this account.

As for Visual Studio, to test it, open up a new Reporting Services project and then import the out-of-the-box RDL files that come in PerformancePoint (they're in %Program Files%\Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server\3.0\Reports, I believe...but they're the only .rdl files in ..\3.0\ so you should be able to do a search quickly if I'm wrong). See the VS help on how to import RDL files.

P.S.-Every report I've ever published to SSRS comes with funky formatting and incorrect data...of course, don't rule out that I'm doing it entirely wrong.

When you open Report Builder 3.0 what do you see at the bottom left corner? I assume you are not using a named instance.
