Question about MS-Outlook 2007

Hello Guys,

I was working on MS-Outlook 2007 and was configuring or seting up an e-mail account on it , when we go to "More Settings" under "Add New E-mail Account" in MS -Outlook ,it shows "Internet E-mail Settings "properties.

Under ""Internet E-mail Settings " , their is "Delivery option" option which says:

" Leave a copy of messages on Server"

If we check this option, than can we also check the logs of e-mails on the Exchange Server?

Also my other question is that can we also check the emails using "OWA"(OutLook Web Access),if this option is selected?

Thanks

Hi,

I'm a little confused. The "Leave a copy of messages on Server" option is available when configuring a POP3 account, but you said you want to check the emails on the Exchange Server. So, I'd like to ask what type of email account you are using.

If it's a POP account, to answer your question, yes. If we check the "Leave a copy of messages on the server" option, a copy of all your emails will be kept on the server and you will be able to view these email when using web-based interface.

Please feel free to let me know if I've misunderstood something.

 Hello Steve,

Thank you for answering my question, yes you did reply clearly ,so you mean that this option :

"Leave a copy of messages on the server"

Is only their for "Incoming Mail Servers"?

My other question is that what is the default port number for incoming and outgoing mail server?

Thanks.

Thanks for the update. As far as I know, POP3 can only download from your main mailbox folder of your web mail. The sent emails you are sending using webmail won't be downloaded to Outlook, but the sent items sent using Outlook are available from webmail.

For your another question, you can try:

Incoming Server: 995 (SSL required)

Outgoing Server: 587 or 465 (SSL required)
